Samsung has drastically lowered its targets for the Galaxy A23 5G for this year. The South Korean company has reduced its A23 5G shipments by 70 percent. The model, which was expected to reach large sales figures earlier this year, was well below expectations.
Unexpected camera issue on Samsung Galaxy A23 5G
Earlier this year, Samsung planned to produce approximately 12.6 million units of the Galaxy A23 5G and 17.1 million units of the Galaxy A23 4G. However, according to the latest figures, Samsung’s updated target for A23 5G has dropped below 4 million. The reason for this is shown as an unexplained problem in the model. It is also among the information that the problem on the smartphone causes low camera performance.
Prior to the revised shipment figures, both the 4G and 5G models of the Galaxy A23 were expected to hit the 30 million mark in total. This amount, which accounts for about 10 percent of Samsung’s total annual shipments, could not even come close.

According to some sources, Tesla would prefer Samsung in ordering 4nm processors. However, the company’s choice was different.
Samsung conducted a long investigation for the problem that occurred with the camera. Finally, Samsung, which is stated to have found the source of the problem, has not yet made a statement about the results. Although the problem has been resolved, the South Korean manufacturer has decided to reduce the production of the Galaxy A23 5G model due to the problems experienced. The company plans to produce only 5 million A23 5G models in 2023.
It is also claimed that Samsung’s change of camera supplier also affected this problem. The company had previously contracted with Sunny Optical as the developer of the A23 5G’s 50MP primary camera with OIS. For the 4G version of the model, Partron company has taken over the same task.
