No, things started much earlier: when her school class re-enacted the parliamentary elections of 1983, eight-year-old Truss ran as Margaret Thatcher – and received zero votes, as reported by the Scottish daily The Scotsman.
When Truss is appointed Prime Minister by the Queen on Tuesday and then moves into her official residence at 10 Downing Street, not only will she have the support of an overwhelming majority of her party members, but she will also have a strong majority of 71 seats in the House of Commons. The lower house has a total of 650 seats.
