With the new integration, the Cash App will allow customers to send Bitcoin to anyone in the world within seconds for free.
Cash App made the following statements in its statement:
“In the coming weeks, Cash App customers in the US will be able to use the Lightning Network to send Bitcoin to anyone anywhere in the world for free.
Users can send Bitcoin from Cash App to any external compatible wallet, a friend, family member, or any merchant that accepts Lightning Network payments.”
Jack Dorsey’s Square company (now Block ) first announced to its customers in 2019 that the Lightning Network feature would be integrated into the Cash App.
There has been no official statement from the company yet for this feature, which has been slowly offered to users since 2019. The company just said that the rollout is expected to be completed in the coming weeks and they aim to reach all US Cash App customers.
