A former Google engineer known as JHL shared his thoughts on Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies in an interview with Kitco News at the DCentral Miami conference.
During the interview, JHL was asked what he thought of the leading cryptocurrency Bitcoin and whether the value of BTC should be zero.
Stating that there are many other tokens or projects that can replace Bitcoin as a store of value and that he considers more useful than BTC, JHL said that this does not mean that the price of Bitcoin should be zero.
“We know there are things that existed before Bitcoin and could be in a similar position to gold. These things are obviously very valuable now. So I don’t think this means that the price of Bitcoin has to be zero.”
In terms of transaction speeds and costs “Bitcoin is always the fastest and cheapest” Emphasizing that there will be a future, JHL said that future Blockchain projects should bridge with Bitcoin.
According to JHL, it doesn’t matter whether there will be any tokens or projects that will take precedence over Bitcoin in the future. Because JHL thinks that these tokens or projects will need to create bridges to use Bitcoin, which is already advantageous in the market.
Stating that Bitcoin has the highest adoption rate among cryptocurrencies, the young engineer stated that thanks to this feature of Bitcoin, it will be valuable in both today’s and future markets.
