Bill Gates Invests $900 Million In Heineken

Businessman and philanthropist Bill Gates bought a $900 million share of Heineken, one of the world’s largest brewers.

Microsoft founder and former CEO Bill Gates came up with an interesting purchase today. Famous businessman, Netherlands-based giant beer producer 3.76% of Heineken he bought. The acquisition, dated February 17, was announced by Dutch institutions today.

According to documents shared by the Dutch Financial Markets Authority, Gates did not make the entire purchase on his behalf. Gates 6.65 million shares directly under his own name, 4.18 million shares received through the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.

Total value of the acquisition is approximately $1 billion

A total of 10.83 million shares purchased by Gates, 901.6 million equivalent to dollars. Gates or Heineken did not make a statement on the subject.

Bill Gates also acquired Mexican beer and beverage producer Femsa in 2007. $392 million share had received. Most of Femsa was acquired by Heineken in 2010.

“I don’t drink a lot of beer. When I find myself in a place like a baseball game, I drink light beers to match other beer drinkers. Sorry for upsetting real drinkers.”
