Google has introduced an important update to the Chrome browser for iPhone and iPad. Now users can customize the menu bar and slide-out menu according to their preferences. This innovation offers a more practical use by allowing users to personalize their browser experience.
Chrome is now more customizable on iPhones and iPads
When you click on the three-dot menu in the upper right corner of Chrome, there is now a “Customize Menu” button in the menu that opens. This option allows users to organize the slider and list in the menu by identifying their favorite items.
Previously, there was an option to “Show frequently used items first” in the slide-out menu. However, since this was constantly changing, it could negatively affect users’ muscle memory. Now you can turn off the “Smart Sorting Menu Bar”.
Except for Settings and Site Information, you can remove all items from the slide-out menu: Bookmarks, Downloads, History, Password Manager (has a nice widget that lets you search for saved credentials by opening the keyboard on the home screen), Reading List, Recent Tabs, Price Tracker and What’s New.
You can also rearrange and uncheck the action list:

- Add to Bookmarks
- Add to Reading List
- Clear Browsing Data
- Translate
- Request Desktop Site
- Find on Page…
- Zoom Text…
This menu bar customization option is available in Chrome version 125 for iPhone and iPad. Users can start exploring this new feature immediately to make their browser experience more personal and efficient.
