The new feature added to Meet aims to give users a more polished appearance during video meetings. Accordingly, the “portrait retouching” mode includes skin smoothing, under-eye brightening and eye whitening features.
Users will be able to change its appearance by applying effects at the “light” or “smoothing” level. The retouch mode, released for Android and iOS, can be activated under the “Video” section of the Meet application.

It should be noted that similar innovations were previously used by rival applications such as Microsoft Teams and Zoom. Although the search giant does not give a clear date, it plans to bring the retouching feature to the web version of Meet by the end of the year.
