“Beat the star”: embarrassing blunder: Alexander Zverev breaks off the game – TV

First brake trouble, then knot crisis.

It was a TV duel of the professionals: On Saturday evening two top athletes met at “Schlag den Star”: Ex-handball club world champion Silvio Heinevetter (36) and Olympic tennis winner Alexander “Sascha” Zverev (24) had no plans to do anything to give. Zverev sounded: “Talking is Silvio, silence is gold. And I can do gold. ”

Heinevetter had closely followed the victory of his ex-stepdaughter Sophia Thomalla (31) and used her as a role model: “Of course, the motivation is there. I hope I can follow in their footsteps. “

First of all, of course, one or the other game had to be played – and Alexander Zverev in particular showed ambition at the beginning. In “mini table tennis” he was fully focused on victory: “I’m assuming that this is the game that I shouldn’t lose. If I lose in a racket sport, it’s over. ”After endless rallies with opponent Heinevetter, he was able to get hold of this point – but shortly afterwards it became dicey for the tennis star.

Game 6 was about “disk climbing”, with the help of suction cups both candidates had to climb up a disk and ring a bell. Silvio Heinevetter was first – but Zverev did not want the result to apply and demanded video proof: “I must have won, otherwise I’ll go.”

Elton explained: “You touched the thing, but you didn’t ring the bell.” But the tennis professional insisted: “Of course it rang. Excuse me please, stop, can we look again? ”But it didn’t help – the point went to Silvio Heinevetter.

The game “trunk” became the next problem. The task was actually quite simple: load existing objects into the trunk of the car and then drive them to the destination until all objects have been transported. Alexander Zverev was ahead – but suddenly he couldn’t get his car to run.

He kept trying desperately to start the car. Commentator Ron Ringguth (55) was delighted: “What kind of car does he have in Monaco? Is it only automatic or what? Sensational, he can’t drive a gearshift! “Moderator Elton (50) hurried to the help and gave the explanatory bear:” Slowly let the clutch come on … ”

But Zverev apparently just didn’t feel like it anymore and gave up: “I forgot the handbrake.” He just got out and stopped the game – and thus caused a disappointed Elton: “He hit the handbrake and stalled the car. You could still have done that. You gave away something now, damn it! ”

So Heinevetter won this game too and teased: “His problem is, he always plays with the handbrake on.”

And the streak of bad luck continued! During the “balloon run” Alexander Zverev managed to inflate, but knotting the end of the balloon went completely wrong. Ringguth could hardly see it: “Zverev has the biggest problem with the knot. He won’t get a knot in there again! ”The next point for Heinevetter – and Elton gave Zverev the explanatory bear for the second time:“ Well, around the finger. Wrap it through and then just pull it through here. “

At 1:25 a.m. it was said: luck in the game for Silvio Heinevetter! He was allowed to take home the winning case with 100,000 euros.
