The purpose of these donations was to collect 3 SİHAs by collecting 15 million dollars. In a campaign launched by the Lithuanian Minister of Defense last month, it was said that the necessary amount of money would be collected and a Bayraktar TB2 SİHA from Turkey would be bought as a gift to the Ukrainian army. They succeeded in collecting this amount.
Of course, Baykar learned the situation and that he gave a Bayraktar TB2 to Lithuania. He said that they wanted the money collected to be given to the people of Ukraine for humanitarian aid. Now a similar situation has taken place in the campaign launched by the Ukrainian people.

The aim of the People’s Bayraktar campaign, which was donated by many people, from journalists to artists, from football players to business people, was to collect 15 million dollars and buy 3 UAVs. As a matter of fact, enough (20 million dollars) was collected to buy 4 SİHAs in 3 days. However, Baykar, who learned the situation, said that he would gift the requested SİHAs and that he wanted all donations to be used for the benefit of the Ukrainian people.

Public figures, journalists, artists, football players, business people, ordinary people and even children contributed to support their country by making large or small donations for the success of this campaign.
The desire of the patriotic Ukrainian people to achieve the goal they set and the spirit of solidarity also impressed us. As Baykar, we donate 3 Bayraktar TB2 SİHAs, which are targeted to be purchased with the donations collected, to Ukraine without any charge. We ask that all donations collected for this goal be used for the benefit of the honorable people of Ukraine.

Ukrainian pilots prefer TB2 over MQ-9 Reaper!
According to the news that emerged in the past days and that took place in the US press, the MQ-9 Reaper and Bayraktar TB2 debate took place among the Ukrainian soldiers, which reached the general assembly.
It is said that MQ-9 Reapers are both twice as expensive as Turkish SİHAs and are no longer as effective against Russian defense systems as before. For this reason, although it has some advanced features, it is said that there is no point in sacrificing it more easily by buying it for 2 times the cost.
In the US press, the words of the Ukrainian soldiers were expressed as follows:
We do not defend the Gray Eagles (MQ-9 Reaper). It is quite dangerous to use such expensive drones in our case because of enemy air defense systems. This is not Afghanistan.
