Audit firm EY gives the go-ahead for split

Dusseldorf The auditing and consulting company EY officially announced its plans to separate its business areas on Thursday. The global management of the group wants to submit the “proposal to split into two separate, multidisciplinary organizations” to the 13,000 partners worldwide, the company said. The partnership should agree on a separation by early 2023. EY did not give any further details on the structure of the planned units in the thin message.

But there was on Thursday afternoon in an internal meeting to which EY boss Carmine Di Sibio had invited the international partners. The plans envisage the separation of large parts of the consulting business into a new company.

This includes all management consulting, strategy and transaction consulting as well as large parts of tax consulting. The remaining examination unit should also work multidisciplinary, according to company circles. Not only the auditors will move to this company, but also other parts of the tax consultancy and experts for cyber and sustainability issues.
