Munich Elisabeth Staudinger is promoted to the board of directors of the Dax group Siemens Healthineers. The 51-year-old will be responsible for the Asia-Pacific region and company-wide technology management on the top management body, the Healthineers announced on Monday.

This means that there will be two women on the board in the future. Krediten Caron is already responsible for the human resources department.

The Healthineers will present their new medium-term strategy “New Ambition” on Wednesday at a capital market day. In an interview with the Handelsblatt, CEO Bernd Montag announced that he would raise the medium-term targets. “The health industry is a growth market – especially now!”

In the course of the plans – the Healthineers speak of “the next phase of development” – the top management is also being reorganized. Board member Christoph Zindel was resigning his mandate at the end of March for personal reasons, it said. The 60-year-old is responsible for the ultrasound business, the sale of which has been speculated over and over again.

In future, CEO Montag will be responsible for the operative business areas (imaging, diagnostics, Varian and Advanced Therapies) on the board. Jochen Schmitz is also responsible for finances as well as the greater region of Europe, the Middle East and Africa. Personnel manager Caron also for the America region.

Staudinger will now complete the board. She has been heading Healthineers’ business activities in the Asia-Pacific region since 2018. Under her leadership, business “in Asia and especially in China developed excellently,” said Ralf Thomas, Chairman of the Supervisory Board.

Staudinger worked for Siemens AG in Germany, Singapore and China from 1998 to 2004. Among other things, she had managerial positions in purchasing, controlling and production. She studied economics, sinology and history.

Siemens Healthineers share has risen sharply

Siemens Healthineers can look back on a successful 2020/21 fiscal year (September 30). Sales rose by a comparable 19 percent to 18 billion euros for the first time. The company sold rapid antigen tests for more than one billion euros.

The Siemens division was listed on the stock exchange in spring 2018. This year, the price has increased significantly more than the Dax by more than 40 percent to around 60 euros.
