ASELSAN MEROPS features: Better than CATS!

ASELSAN MEROPS camera system is one step ahead of CATS in terms of its features. Because the 1st version of CATS was 61 kg and the 2nd version was 55 kilograms. But the weight of MEROPS has been reduced to 50 kg. In other words, there is an insignificant difference of 1 kg between the system that Canada has prevented from selling.

In addition, while CATS detects targets up to 15 km, this feature has been increased to 20 km in MEROPS. In addition, many main elements such as laser marking, laser distance meter, laser lighting systems are also included in this device.

ASELSAN General Manager Haluk Görgün, who made a press release recently, talked about the CATS system, which is among the most curious products. More than 40 CATSs have already been delivered, he said.

He announced that they are currently producing 6 units per month. He said that efforts are continuing to increase this number to 10 in the following period. After this new system, they can only use CATS on UAVs. Because MEROPS also appeals to aircraft flying at high altitudes.
