Record deal between Aselsan and SSB for UAV technologies!

With the agreement signed between Aselsan and the Presidency of Defense Industries, the company received a record number of high-tech product orders. As you know, Turkey has made a name for itself on a global scale in UAV and UCAV technologies thanks to numerous successful companies such as TAI, Baykar and Alp Aviation. Of course, this business is not carried out by just one company.

Because other Turkish companies, such as Aselsan, which are experts in the field, also produce high-tech products of these vehicles. For example, for the MMU KAAN project, Aselsan produces the TULGAR Helmet Imaging system as well as the AESA radar, which can be installed on F-16, MMU KAAN and even HürJet.

What is Electronic Warfare?

Wars are not always won by human or armed force. We showed the most successful example of this during the Battle of Gallipoli. There is an important detail here. We saw the first examples of electronic warfare victories in history during the Battle of Gallipoli. On March 5, 1915, two torpedoes and the Queen Elizabeth battleship were bombing the artillery batteries in Kilitbahir, receiving information from the enemy aircraft above.

As you can see, the ships below were connected to the plane above via a radio connection, and they were carrying out a successful bombardment with the information received in the meantime. However, there was something they didn’t know: hiding at the entrance of Kilitbahir. Yıldız Wireless Telegraph Station! Thanks to this station, the connection between enemy vehicles was broken by the method called “Jamming”. Thanks to this, the bombardment failed.

This is how the phenomenon we call electronic warfare is explained with the easiest example. In other words, we can give a short example as breaking the connections between enemy units’ vehicles or committee units and disrupting their defense systems.
