ASELSAN’s financial results for 2022 have been announced. Continuing its sustainable and strong growth this year, Aselsan’s annual turnover increased by 75% compared to the same period of the previous year and reached 35.3 billion TL.
While the gross profit of the company increased by 77 percent compared to the same period of the previous year; Earnings Before Interest, Depreciation and Taxes (EBITDA) increased by 72 percent compared to the same period of the previous year and reached 9.5 billion TL.
With an EBITDA margin of 27 percent, ASELSAN’s net profit increased by 67 percent compared to the same period of the previous year and reached 11.9 billion TL. The company’s equity to assets ratio was 52 percent.
ASELSAN Chairman of the Board and General Manager Prof. Dr. Haluk Görgün evaluated the year-end financial results of the company as follows;
“In 2022, as ASELSAN, we represented our country in the national and international arena and presented our high-tech projects that we produced with our domestic and national power to our users both in our country and in the global arena.
Our revenue, which increased by 75% in 2022, reached 35.3 billion TL. As we leave behind another successful year, we will continue to work with all our strength for a strong and independent Turkey.
ASELSAN paid 23.4 billion TL to its suppliers in 2022
By meeting 70 percent of our purchases domestically in 2022 We paid approximately 23.4 billion TL to our suppliers.. In 2022, we successfully completed the nationalization process of 160 different products.
Thus, we have increased the number of products we have nationalized in the last 3 years to approximately 670 and ensured that a size close to 500 million USD remains in our country.
In 2022, we exported ASELSAN products to 3 new countries where no sales have been made so far.
The number of countries that we have become users in the last 4 years has reached 81 with the addition of 18 new countries. Our 50 different products, which have never been sold abroad before, were presented to the international arena with foreign sales contracts signed in the last 4 years. Our overseas balance order has reached the level of 1 billion dollars.
ASELSAN: We Stand by Our People in the Earthquake
After the earthquake that took place in Kahramanmaraş on February 6, 2023 and affected 11 cities at once, we quickly established the 600-bed tent city and ASELSAN Disaster and Logistics Center in Hatay.
We ensured the coordination of our activities in all cities affected by the disaster, especially in Hatay and Kahramanmaraş, with the ASELSAN Crisis Desk, which we created in the first hours of the earthquake. From the first day, we delivered tons of food, medicine and clothing collected at the centers established in the ASELSAN campuses to the earthquake victims.
We quickly delivered ASELSAN products such as communication devices and systems, thermal cameras, solar-powered camera systems, collar cameras, respirators for search and rescue teams of state institutions working in the earthquake zone.
As part of the aid campaign launched under the coordination of ASİL (ASELSAN Social Innovation Leaders) Association, we set up more than 85 tents on an area of 13 thousand square meters in Hatay, one of the provinces most affected by the earthquakes in Kahramanmaraş, which is described as the disaster of the century. All the needs of our guests, guided by AFAD, from health to education, continue to be met.
Our ASİL Association contributed 10 million TL to the Turkey One Heart campaign with the donations collected with the contributions of our employees and suppliers.
