On the second day of Intel Innovation 2023, attended by SDN Founder Hakkı Alkan, Intel Chief Technology Officer Greg Lavender explained in detail how Intel’s developer-first, open ecosystem philosophy serves the purpose of ensuring artificial intelligence opportunities are accessible to everyone.

Developers looking to leverage AI face challenges that prevent widespread adoption of solutions from client and edge to data center and cloud. Intel remains committed to addressing these challenges with a software-defined, silicon-accelerated approach based on openness, choice, trust and security. Intel enables developers to take AI everywhere by providing tools that simplify the development of secure AI applications and reduce the investment required to maintain and scale these solutions.

“The developer community is the catalyst that helps industries leverage AI to meet their diverse needs both today and in the future,” said Lavender, adding: “AI can and should be accessible to everyone to be used responsibly. “When developers have limited hardware and software choices, the use cases for global AI adoption will be limited and the societal value they can potentially deliver will be limited.”

In his speech on the second day of the event, Lavender underlined Intel’s commitment to end-to-end security, including the Intel Transparent Supply Chain to verify hardware and firmware integrity and providing confidential computing to help protect sensitive data in memory. Today, Intel is expanding platform security and data integrity protection with several new tools and services, including the general availability of a new attestation service.

The attestation service is the first product of a new portfolio of security software and services called Intel Trust Authority. This service provides a unified and independent assessment of trusted execution environment integrity, policy enforcement and audit trails; It can be used wherever Intel confidential computing is deployed, including multi-cloud, hybrid, on-premises and edge.

Intel Trust Authority will also become an essential capability to enable confidential AI by helping to ensure the trustworthiness of confidential computing environments where sensitive intellectual property (IP) and data are inferred and processed in machine learning applications, particularly on current and next-generation Intel Xeon processors.
