The message posted on Baidu’s official Baidu AI WeChat account said:
“An official app of Ernie is currently not available. Do not download any Ernie apps you see in the App Store or other stores until our company’s official announcement, because they are fake.”
Baidu’s CEO Robin Li said at the launch in March that the AI-powered Ernie chatbot has capabilities close to GPT-4, the latest version of OpenAI’s cutting-edge chatbot embedded in the Bing search engine by Microsoft.
Time will tell us the outcome of the Ernie case between Apple and Baidu. In this way, we will be able to see who is right and who is negligent.
