After smartphones, the interest in wearable technologies continues to increase tremendously. Manufacturers are trying to sell to people of all classes with more and more models. But the most popular of them, the Apple Watch, tripled its rivals.
Apple Watch sold as much as Samsung, Xiaomi and Huawei combined!
When we look at the sales of the 2nd quarter of 2022, Apple guarantees the top of the list by selling 32.1 million Apple Watches. In second place is Samsung, which sells 10.9 million smart watches and wristbands.
Just behind it, Xiaomi, which broke sales records with its affordable smart wristbands, is on the list by selling 9.8 million wearable technologies. Huawei, which saw its smartphone sales bottom out after the US embargo and therefore relies on smart watches and wristbands, ranks 4th with 7.7 million units.
When we look at the first quarter of last year, the situation becomes interesting. Because, as expected, Apple is increasing both its sales and its market share. But in other manufacturers the situation is the opposite. While they sell less in number, they lose the market to Apple.
When we look at the market shares, the general table is as follows:
Company | number of sales Q1-22 |
market share Q1-22 |
number of sales Q1-21 |
market share Q1-21 |
annual growth |
---|---|---|---|---|---|
apple | 32.1 million | 30.5 percent | 30.1 million | 27.7 percent | 6.6 percent |
Samsung | 10.9 million | 10.3 percent | 12.1 million | 11.1 percent | -9.9 percent |
Xiaomi | 9.8 million | 9.3 percent | 12.9 million | 11.9 percent | -23.8 percent |
Huawei | 7.7 million | 7.3 percent | 8.6 million | 7.9 percent | -10.8 percent |
Others | 44.9 million | 42.6 percent | 44.9 million | 41.4 percent | 4.7 percent |
Total | 105.3 million | 100.0 percent | 108.6 million | 100.0 percent | -3.0 percent |
