Munich The delivery bottlenecks in the chip industry are likely to continue for years. Important suppliers such as AT&S from Austria will find it difficult to cope with the flood of orders in the future. “We are sold out until 2025, even 2026,” CEO Andreas Gerstenmayer told the Handelsblatt. “All additional capacities have already been reserved by our customers.” The manager can therefore no longer accept new orders.
The listed company is investing more than ever before. In Malaysia, 1.7 billion euros are being invested in a new factory, and 500 million euros in a research and development center at the headquarters in Leoben. That’s a lot of money for a group that will achieve sales of a good 1.5 billion euros in the current financial year (end of March).
