Apple is committed to Face ID technology: Touch ID will not return!
When Apple first introduced fingerprint security technology with the iPhone 5S, it was greeted with surprise and admiration by many. Because it managed to stay one step ahead of its competitors using unlocking features such as pin code or pattern at that time.
Of course, almost all devices using Android today have a fingerprint reader. Some of them come to the fore with their hardware located under the screen and having special sensors. In addition, this feature has made a significant progress compared to the first day it was introduced.
However, Face ID used by Apple is much more advanced than Touch ID technology, according to the company’s claim, and is ahead of it in terms of reliability. However, the simplest way to do this is to look at the device, although using a fingerprint to unlock the phone becomes quite easy as it becomes a muscle memory.
Face ID, on the other hand, does not just scan your face to do this. Now it also tracks individual details around the eyes. Thanks to the support on the software side, even if your eyes are open, if you are not looking at the phone, it does not unlock even though it recognizes you.
With the latest iOS 15.4 update shared by the company, the use of masks is no longer a problem. Of course, Apple still recommends using full face recognition. However, since we still have to wear a mask everywhere, we can say that the TrueDepth system can do this by scanning the eyes and their surroundings, putting things back on track. Moreover, it does not compromise on speed. But for now, it should be noted that 3rd party applications are not supported.
