Apple may be preparing to release its first foldable device. New reports from Asia have revealed that the company is looking to expand its display partnership with Samsung. Accordingly, Apple is negotiating with Samsung to supply foldable display panels.
Apple and Samsung will develop iPhone Fold
Partnerships between Apple and Samsung may be expanding. Although the details are still unclear, it has been stated that work has begun for the iPhone Fold. Accordingly, within the scope of the agreement, Samsung will develop Apple’s foldable screen technology.
Apple has long been rumored to be working on a vertically foldable iPhone similar to the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip. It was even stated that this model would be released in late 2026. The patents received by Apple also revealed that it is working on various foldable devices, from iPhone to MacBook.
However, the agreement with Samsung created confusion on some issues. For example, Apple asked the company for a 20.3-inch foldable panel. While this is too big for a smartphone, it could make a foldable MacBook possible. It should not be forgotten that the company develops experimental products.
Apple, which will start production for the dual-screen folding MacBook/iPad hybrid in 2025, will allegedly launch with a 20.3-inch model. It is reported that it is working on two screens for iPhone, 7.9 inches and 8.3 inches.
According to leaks, Apple, which has accelerated its work in the field of foldable phones, will create a separate series for its new models. If there is no disruption in the plans, Apple’s first foldable model will be available in the last days of 2025. The foldable iPhone will be unveiled in 2026.
