Annoying error in Spider-Man 2 boxed version!

Players who purchased a physical copy of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 for PlayStation 5 are experiencing installation problems. A Reddit user highlighted the issue by stating that after inserting the disk, the loading process stopped at 36%.

For some reason, Spider-Man 2 gets stuck at 36% loading no matter what you do.

Despite trying various troubleshooting methods, such as disconnecting from the internet and allowing the disc to load first, or even trying a different disc, users were unsuccessful.

This Reddit post led to a Resetera thread containing similar reports from players encountering the same issue. They tried many strategies such as repeatedly deleting and reinstalling, clearing the system cache and rebuilding the database. Unfortunately, none of these efforts allowed Spider-Man 2’s install to move beyond 36%.

A touching reference to Chadwick Boseman, who died in Spider-Man 2

Black Panther Chadwick Boseman, who died of cancer 3 years ago, is remembered very nicely in the newly released Spider-Man 2. Here are the details…

The affected user expressed his surprise and said, “This is the first physical disk I bought that did not work.” Users have highlighted that this issue seems to be common as many reports have repeated the same loading stop at 36%.

While Insomniac Games has not officially addressed the issue, it has provided a link to technical support for fans encountering issues with the game. Before Spider-Man 2 was released, the studio stated that players who preferred the disc version did not need to download the Day 1 patch. However, they strongly recommended downloading patch 1.001.002 on launch day for an improved initial gaming experience.

IGN has reached out to Insomniac Games for comment. Once the loading issue is resolved, players can discover a list of the best skills they should prioritize in Spider-Man 2 and an overview of all available suits in the game.
