EA Sports’ FIFA series has long been plagued by fun but frustrating bugs, often resulting in hilarious physics mishaps between players. However, the latest glitch rolling out in FC 24 is probably the most problematic yet.
FC 24 bug that allows you to stick the ball to yourself and run
This mistake allows a player to perform a skill move that miraculously pins the ball to the back of his leg, allowing him to run straight towards the goal, ignoring opponents. Opponents are helpless in the face of this deficit.
The source of the bug is unclear, but it’s common enough to affect competitive multiplayer games. In Ultimate Team’s Division Rivals mode, which affects player rankings and rewards, players took to social media to share clips of this game-breaking maneuver.
This glitch, called the “calf dribble,” was considered by some to make the game unplayable. By sharing videos of this vulnerability, players contribute to its increased use to gain unfair advantage.
EA Sports is actively investigating the issue and acknowledges that the ball may erroneously stick to the dribbler’s leg in certain situations. As of now, no fix has been implemented and reports indicate that this exploit is wreaking havoc in the competitive Weekend League mode. In this mode, players compete in 20 matches to determine their rewards.
Despite the recent release of the third major update for EA Sports FC 24, which addresses more than 100 issues and brings various gameplay, audio and visual changes, there are still shortcomings as you can see.
The game did not see the significant improvements hoped for, with Ultimate Team enthusiasts being the only demographic group potentially satisfied. The rest of the game feels a bit neglected as it moves away from the FIFA license.
EA has refrained from postponing the Weekend League despite similar issues in the past, leaving players to grapple with calf dribbling abuse in pursuit of victory.
