AMD is currently facing a potentially massive data breach. The company announced on Tuesday that it had begun investigating the breach following a news report containing blurry screenshots of allegedly stolen data. It’s unclear how large-scale the breach was, but it is said to involve future products, customer databases, employee information and other confidential data.

AMD said in a statement shared with Bloomberg. “We are aware of a cybercriminal organization claiming that AMD data has been stolen. “We are working closely with law enforcement and a third-party hosting partner to investigate the claim and the significance of the data.” said.
IntelBroker, a well-known hacker, posted a sample of the stolen data on a dark web site called BreachForums. In the post shared by IntelBroker, it is stated that the data includes future AMD products, feature sheets, employee and customer databases, source code, firmware, financial documents and ownership details.
It’s unclear how big the breach was and what price the data was sold for. IntelBroker has previously been named in data breaches targeting Los Angeles International Airport, Europol and Home Depot. This isn’t AMD’s first breach. In 2022, a hacker group called RansomHouse stole as much as 450 GB of data from the company.
