AGON’s 5th generation expands with 270Hz/240Hz QHD monitors

AGON by AOC, one of the world’s leading brands of gaming monitors and IT accessories – introduces two new models from the brand new AGON 5 product line: the 27″/68.6 cm AGON AG275QZ/EUQuantum Dot layer with a fast IPS panel that produces 1.07 billion colors, 240Hz (via overclocking) 270 Hz) refresh rate, 1 ms GtG and 0.5 ms MPRT response time. Its more budget-friendly sibling, the 27-inch AGON AG275QZN/EU, has a Fast VA panel with a high contrast, thus offering the same esports-level features: 240Hz refresh rate, 1ms GtG and 0.5ms MPRT response time.

With extremely low input lag and fast response times, gamers will experience smooth, fluid gameplay with both models – allowing them to see and follow their opponents faster, giving them an advantage during competition. Truly versatile models, these two monitors ensure fast-moving, fluid images while bringing rich and vibrant visuals to life. Both monitors are VESA DisplayHDR 400 certified and support HDR10.

The latest generation AGON 5 models were launched for the first time in October with two 165 Hz models, again equipped with either Fast IPS or Fast VA panels. Now with the AG275QZ/EU and AG275QZN/EU, AGON by AOC raises the bar to esports at 270Hz or 240Hz. Moreover, just like their 165 Hz siblings, these new models are offered for sale in 100% recyclable, paper-backed packaging.

Both the AG275QZ/EU and the AG275QZN/EU have a refreshed design that is sleeker and cleaner looking compared to previous AGON models. The monitors’ 3-sided frameless design makes them ideal for use in multi-monitor setups. The metal base of its premium feet has a reduced footprint on the desk, so it can accommodate these monitors in even the most compact battlefields.

Moreover, with height-adjustable feet that offer swivel, pivot, and tilt functionality, the ergonomic AG275QZ/EU and AG275QZN/EU are suitable for high-energy competitions, whether at home or on stage tournaments. Thanks to the internal cable management opening in the foot and the internal power supply, these models reduce desk spread. It allows players to focus on the task ahead. An internal 4-port USB hub (USB 3.2 Gen 1) is included with both models. Thus, users can easily connect peripherals, joysticks or controllers.

The AG275QZ/EU model features a fast IPS panel with a Quantum Dot layer capable of delivering 10-bit color depth and 1.07 billion colors, improving color accuracy and expanding the color gamut to produce rich, saturated colors. With wide gamut coverage of 99.9% AdobeRGB, 100% sRGB and 97.5% DCI-P3, the AG275QZ/EU is well suited for content producers, Youtubers and live streamers.

In addition, this monitor also supports VESA DisplayHDR400 and HDR10 to reproduce high dynamic range content. The 240 Hz refresh rate can be easily increased to 270 Hz by overclocking the monitor’s OSD, making it one of the fastest QHD models on the market. The combination of a 270 Hz refresh rate with a low response time and a sharp QHD resolution (2560×1440) heralds that this monitor will remain current for years to come.

The AG275QZN/EU, on the other hand, has a Fast VA panel with 16.7 million colors and a higher contrast (3000:1) than the IPS-QD variant, making it perfect for dark, shadowy screen content by reproducing rich, deep blacks. The AG275QZN/EU is also VESA DisplayHDR400 certified, supports HDR10, and offers a wonderfully comprehensive color gamut at 89.3% AdobeRGB, 99.7% sRGB, and 89.9% DCI-P3.

For both the IPS (AG275QZ/EU) and the VA version (AG275QZN/EU), multiple pixel overclocking modes allow these monitors to achieve an impressive 1ms GtG response time. Moreover, Motion Blur Reduction (MBR) can also reduce the detected response time to only 0.5 ms MPRT. Both models have Adaptive-Sync, meaning they support common variable refresh rate implementations to eliminate screen tearing or stuttering.

Moreover, with Console Mode, these models can be used with the latest generation consoles in 2560×1440 @ 120 Hz modes – accepting a 4K signal and downscaling to 2560×1440 with high refresh rate enabled.

The extensive menu system in its OSD can be used with a joystick or AOC G-Menu software, so users can adjust color/brightness settings to perfection and turn on gaming or comfort features such as crosshair overlay, ShadowControl or Low Blue mode. AG275QZ/EU and AGON AG275QZN/EU will be available from November 2022 at the manufacturer’s recommended retail price of 829 USD and 549 USD respectively.
