Apple, one of the most important names in the smartphone world, continues its preparations for the iPhone 15 while continuing its path with the iPhone 14 series. Some important changes are expected in the iPhone 15 series, which is expected to take the stage in the last quarter of this year.
iPhone 15 will only support Made for iPhone (MFi) certified USB-C accessories
The European Union Parliament, with its decision in June of last year, decided that the technological products that go on sale in Europe until the end of 2024 will switch to the USB-C port. Of course, after this decision, eyes turned to Apple.
Apple, which has been identified with the Lightning connection for many years, will switch to the USB-C port with the iPhone 15 series. However, the company still resorts to a series of applications for the use of its own products. The iPhone 15 series will only support standard USB-C accessories approved by the Made for iPhone (MFi) program.
If USB-C cables from other companies that do not support Made for iPhone (MFi) are used, the data transfer rate will decrease considerably. According to some sources, it will not allow its use by warning “This accessory is not supported”.
Technological waste is one of the most important factors in the European Union’s decision to impose sanctions. Today, technological tools are subject to change quite frequently. As such, unusable chargers and headphones are, in a way, garbage. It is a matter of debate how much Apple’s last step complies with the EU’s wishes.
