Izmir Governor Dr. Statement by Süleyman Elban:
“A report was reported to our governorship regarding the #earthquake with a magnitude of 5.1 that occurred at 08.19, centered in the Aegean Sea – Kuşadası Bay – Menderes. there is no negativity. I offer my best wishes to all our fellow citizens.”
Also speaking to CNN Turk, Prof. Dr. Şükrü Ersoy also made remarkable statements:
“A very noticeable earthquake. Most likely this may not be a significant earthquake. There was a significant energy drain in Kuşadası Bay in 2020, and maybe this earthquake could even be its aftershock. If if it were on land, maybe there could have been a different interpretation. It may most likely be an aftershock of the 2020 earthquakes. It may also be an isolated earthquake. I don’t think it could have a devastating effect.”
We will be reporting the developments.
