Berlin Germany will not get rid of inflation that quickly. This is suggested by the early warning system I-Index of the TU Dortmund. In May, the indicator fell only slightly to 11.8 percent. This means that the topic of inflation played a role in more than every eighth published newspaper article.

At the beginning of the year, the I index fell rapidly, from 14.3 percent in January to twelve percent in March. Since then, a sideways movement has been observed. The I-Index is a measure of key inflation expectations as measured by media coverage.

“The public remains vigilant,” comments project manager Henrik Müller. This is basically a good sign, also because it keeps the pressure on to fight inflation.
