Russian President Vladimir Putin has announced that he intends to station nuclear weapons in Belarus by July 1. What does this mean for your country?
For now, we shouldn’t necessarily take Putin’s statement at face value. The announcement is more to be seen in the context of Putin’s rhetoric towards the West, in a way as an attempt at blackmail. So far, there have been no preparatory steps in Belarus that would be necessary for such a stationing.

Western intelligence services are closely monitoring what is happening in Belarus in this area. No clues are known at this time. That doesn’t mean deployment will never happen, but certainly not soon.
