“A European leader called for three weeks in a row with the same question”

Mr. Leshchenko, since the beginning of the war you have spent almost all of your time in the Ukrainian Presidential Office in Kyiv. What is that atmosphere?
I haven’t slept at home for almost two months, just one night last week. For reasons of confidentiality, I’m not allowed to divulge any details about life in the President’s office.

What I can say is that we have everything we need here: places to sleep, food. Everyday life is highly concentrated. You work 18 to 20 hours a day. It starts horizontally in the morning: Open the laptop, check the cell phone. At the beginning of the war we slept a maximum of four hours, now five to six. It’s tough, but it’s even tougher for the President. You can see how tired Selenski is.
