new York Looking at crypto prices isn’t exactly celebratory these days. Concerns about an escalation in Ukraine are not only causing turmoil on Wall Street, but are also weighing on crypto investor sentiment.
The prices of the two largest cryptocurrencies, Bitcoin and Ether, have fallen 15 and 18 percent respectively in the past few weeks. That hasn’t stopped crypto fans from discussing and celebrating the future of their industry over the past few days.
The ETHDenver crypto conference came to an end on Sunday. It attracted more than 12,000 Ethereum fans from all over the world – twice as many as in 2020, just before the pandemic.
The Ethereum blockchain is the most important pillar for two major trends in the crypto world. First: the decentralized financial system, called DeFi – a kind of alternative financial system that is based on blockchains and coins and does not require traditional intermediaries such as banks and stock exchanges.
