Group takes more time with sales

Frankfurt The sales process should have started a long time ago – but now it has been completely postponed. According to information from the Handelsblatt, Lufthansa has initially put the sale of the business travel service provider Airplus on hold. The asking price of potential buyers was too low. “We always said we don’t do fire sales,” said a spokesman for the aviation group.

Europe’s largest airline group is taking more time with the planned sale of company investments. This also applies to the maintenance subsidiary Lufthansa Technik, which is referred to in industry circles as one of the group’s pearls. By the end of the year, the management originally wanted to decide whether a minority of the subsidiary would be sold or listed on the stock exchange. But now the decision will probably be made by the end of March next year at the earliest.
