Microsoft, from Windows digital assistant Cortana announced that it would withdraw its support. Switching to artificial intelligence assistants such as Bing Chat, Microsoft 365 Copilot and Windows Copilot, Microsoft has decided not to continue Cortana any longer.
Cortana for Windows unplugged
First announced as a competitor to Apple Siri in 2014, Cortana emerged as a response to the growing popularity of virtual assistants at the time. However, it could not gather the attention it expected from users. After that, its apps on iOS and Android were withdrawn in 2021.
Cortana faced competition from players like Siri and Google Assistant and struggled to gain significant market share. Realizing the limitations of Cortana, Microsoft turned its attention to AI-powered assistants.

Mozilla Firefox has ended support for Windows 7 and 8/8.1. This indicates that the app will not receive any further updates.
We know that Microsoft has invested heavily in artificial intelligence lately. These include Bing Chat and developed for personalized help. Microsoft 365 / Windows Copilot has applications. These services leverage OpenAI’s advanced machine learning algorithms.
It should be noted that the company draws attention to a different side regarding assistants. While Cortana has been canceled, Copilot, which was recently released for Windows 11, stands out. This tool will be integrated into the operating system and will offer voice assistance to users.
Let us inform you that Cortana will continue to serve as a digital assistant in Outlook applications for a while. Additionally, it will be available in Microsoft Teams.
