Berlin The head of the Association of Private Health Insurance (PKV) has sharply criticized Minister of Health Karl Lauterbach (SPD) for his spending policy. “It can’t go on as it is now,” Thomas Brahm told the Handelsblatt. “Minister Lauterbach is financially driving the healthcare system to the wall.”
The fund manager has been leading the association since the turn of the year and represents the interests of around eight million privately insured people in Germany. Lauterbach promises “new services – such as now in care – but remains guilty of a solid financial reform,” he said.
