Frankfurt It’s not lavish – but at least there’s interest on money parked in accounts here and there. A few weeks ago, banks and savings banks paid on average nothing at all for the flexible overnight money that is available at any time and just around 0.2 percent for fixed-term deposits over a year. In the meantime, some providers offer noticeably more, as the Frankfurt financial data provider FMH-Finanzberatung notes.
With the currently strongly fluctuating stock markets, investors will find a place of rest for their capital there. However, not in the long term, because the enormously increased inflation eats up the capital in real terms – i.e. after deducting the depreciation of the currency.
