With the event held last week, important developments took place for the navy. The first Armored Amphibious Assault Vehicle (ZAHA) was delivered at the event. Thanks to these vehicles produced by Nurol Makine, the navy will be able to move much more easily in offensive operations.
After the ZAHA deliveries were made, it was time for the Enhanced Armored Personnel Carriers. We can say that these vehicles are actually the senior soldiers of the Turkish Armed Forces. GZPTs were first received 20 years ago, in 2003. We can say that he is one of the former veterans of the army.

GZPTs, on the other hand, are obsolete. And now it’s time for modernization. For this reason, the Presidency of Defense Industries started a project. Nurol Makine won the tender within the scope of the project.
Nurol Makine is actually a Turkish defense industry company that you can recognize from land vehicles such as Ejder Yalçın, Yörük and FNSS brand. The brand also aspired to the modernization business of the Enhanced Armored Personnel Carriers in the tender.
FNSS will modernize 52 GZPTs!
In the project, which will be carried out under the leadership of NSS, 52 GZPTs with 305 horsepower and amphibious capability in the inventory of the Land Forces will be modernized and equipped with new technology subsystems. The GZPT Modernization Project aims to ensure that the GZPTs, which were delivered to the TAF by FNSS in previous years and are on active duty, will serve with superior performance for at least 20 years.
Changing threats, technological advances, and user feedback obtained with the solution package offered by FNSS aim for GZPT-T1s to contribute more to the combat power of the Land Forces. Thanks to this modernization package, GZPT-T1s will become a modern tool against current threats with their extended lifespan and next-generation mission hardware.
