Berlin The traffic light coalition actually wanted to send a positive signal on Monday. After months of strife, the new household was finally united. But at the presentation it was also announced that the traffic light wants to save on parental allowance and significantly lower the income limit for social benefits.

Since then, a heated debate about equality, justice and the advancement of families has been going on – and with consensus it is quickly over. The entrepreneur Verena Pausder started a petition against the “deletion of parental allowance”. Politicians from the SPD to the CDU are appalled by the cuts. And the Greens and the FDP are arguing about who is responsible for the decision. And whether it shouldn’t be undone.
