50 more local taxis to Istanbul: Here is the electric Adamini!

As a result of the reaction from the public as a result of the horse deaths in the phaetons used for transportation on the islands in the past years, IMM took action and enabled the use of electric vehicles instead of the phaeton. Today, 50 new domestically produced electric Adamini models have been added to the inventory.

Domestic electric Adamini, whose range has tripled, has started its taxi duty!

The domestic electric taxi model CleanVac Adamini produced in Sakarya can carry 4 people (3+1), including the driver. The biggest feature of these vehicles is their range. While the first Adamini models taken to the islands have a range of 40 km, the new generation versions can travel 120 km on a single charge. In addition, they can be fully charged in 4 hours via AC.

These vehicles, called Adamini, will be used as taxis and allocated for special service. However, especially in the periods when touristic visits increase, it can be used as a taxi-dolmus in case large vehicles are insufficient.

İBB’s Domestic Train: Tram34! (Exclusive interview with Ekrem İmamoğlu)

The rail system projects of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality continue. We talked about TRAM34 with İBB President Ekrem İmamoğlu.

Currently, there are 40 Adabüs for 12 people on the islands. In 2020, the first Adaminis were received with an order of 20 units. Then another 60 Adaminis were purchased in 2021. As of today, as we mentioned, 50 new Adamini models, which offer improvements in range and charging, have been added to the inventory.

In other words, there are 130 Adamini and 40 Adabüs in total. According to the latest statement, 60 Adabuses will be purchased in February of next year. Moreover, these new Adabüs models will include many cutting-edge features such as the regenerative braking system.

The designs of these electric vehicles, which go through the domestic production process, are made taking into account the needs. Therefore, we can say that they have designs and features unique to Istanbul and even to the islands.

Ekrem İmamoğlu, Mayor of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality, said:

“We have created a discipline area for all irregularly used vehicles. Until you get to your bike. We will not forget that the islands are an environment that must be visited and lived with discipline, and vehicles must be used with discipline and very special permissions.

Otherwise, if everyone takes a transportation step according to their mind, this place will really go to the top of the chaos. We promise an island where order prevails. At the beginning of 2024, when our new vehicles are added, our steps related to environmental cleaning and beaches, together with mostly electric vehicles… We will put the very beautiful Beltur hotel into service here.

Allegedly, the Islands, which have been completely forgotten by the Metropolitan Municipality, have served in five years, perhaps 25 years of neglect, jointly with the administration of both us and our district mayor. I wish our taxis a lot of customer satisfaction. good luck”
