3D Realms and Slipgate Ironworks fire hundreds of people
3D Realms, founded in 1987 and known for the Duke Nukem series, joined Embracer Group through Saber Interactive last August. Founder Scott Miller, who confirmed the layoffs at 3D Realms, declined to give an exact number.
On the other hand, Slipgate Ironworks, also known as Interceptor Entertainment, was reportedly affected by layoffs. Embracer, which acquired Saber Interactive in 2021, also took Slipgate under its wing. However, the developer of Daymare: 1998 and Duke Nukem II had to downsize.
