With an application, the doctors want to set a quota for women on the Apobank supervisory board.

Frankfurt Several prominent medical professionals want to set a women’s quota for the previously male-dominated supervisory board of the Apotheker- und Ärztebank (Apobank). They propose that when new or re-elected members of the Supervisory Board be “taken into account the professional and proportionate participation of male and female candidates and younger and older candidates”. The application is to be voted on next Friday at the bank’s representative meeting, a kind of general meeting.

The motion provides for a quota of at least 30 percent women for the ten representatives of the shareholders in the supervisory body. It would therefore make sense to “divide three seats per group of health professionals into: a female health professional, a male health professional and an expert seat, taking into account a mix of ages”.
