3 Turks Acquitted for Helping Nissan CEO Escape

Three Turks who were mentioned in the Carlos Ghosn case, who escaped from house arrest in Japan and fled to Lebanon via Turkey, were acquitted of the trial against them.

Japanese auto giant Nissan has recently experienced a major crisis. Acting as the CEO of the Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi strategic partnership Carlos Ghosnwas arrested in Japan after financial charges against him.

However, Ghosn escaped from house arrest in 2019 and returned to his hometown of Lebanon by signing a move that proves the accusations. This escape process via TürkiyeIt was claimed that it took place thanks to some Turkish names and 3 Turks were arrested. Today, there has been a development about those Turkish names.

3 Turks on trial in Ghosn’s escape case were acquitted:

An executive and two pilots found to have helped Ghosn escape via Turkey were charged with smuggling in 2021. He was sentenced to 4 years and 2 months in prison. Attorney Mehmet Fatih Danacı, who took the case of the trio, shared a new news about the three names.

In the statement he shared, Danacı announced that they got a result in their favor from the appeal court they went to. Three Turkish names acquitted of the case shared. But Ghosn’s trial in Turkey is not over yet.

According to the information shared by Danacı, the court of appeal, retrial of the case decided. Thus, the file will be returned to the lower court and a retrial will be held.
