Dan Riccio, Apple’s hardware manager, will retire
Dan Riccio, who has been an Apple executive for more than 25 years, made important statements to some names in the industry. Informed sources said he was planning for retirement after more than twenty years running Apple’s hardware division.
An official retirement date has not been determined yet, as the details are still not finalized. However, Riccio has held various hardware leadership roles during his tenure, which began as product design leader in 1998. First iPad, then vice president of hardware engineering at Apple happened.
During this period, Apple launched many industry-leading devices. Riccio was appointed to a new team for Apple Vision Pro glasses in early 2021. The device, which was released with great expectations last month, seems to be Riccio’s last project.
Riccio, who led the equipment of Vision Pro, handed over his seat to John Ternus in this process. Ternus has held the role of Apple’s vice president of hardware engineering for the past two years.
After helping launch the Vision Pro, Riccio looks ready to retire at Apple. With Riccio’s departure, it is unclear which names Apple will employ for this position.
