And these are not the only boom regions: For some time now, horrendous prices have prevailed in the western federal states of Vorarlberg, Tyrol and Salzburg, where the large ski areas are located.
The Tyrolean community of Kitzbühel, for example, only around two hours’ drive from Munich, is one of the most luxurious second home markets in the Alps, according to a compilation by the Swiss bank UBS. The prices rise sharply year after year. A property in the upscale segment now costs around 15,000 euros per square meter; The prices in St. Anton am Arlberg are in similar spheres.
