What is currently happening on the energy markets can only be explained with panic. Panic prevails in large parts of the German economy, in companies that can no longer work economically. Panic reigns among energy companies, who fear a supply freeze for Russian gas.

Not everything can be explained rationally. Just two weeks after Russia attacked Ukraine, everything that has shaped our energy industry over the past two decades is being called into question: the nuclear phase-out, the coal phase-out – even the whole concept of the epochal energy transition.

In fact, German energy policy is on the verge of a turning point. We have to adapt the energy transition. We must put pragmatism and common sense before ideologies – while confronting ten uncomfortable truths.
