After Cowie was found dead face down in bed in his friend’s Brooklyn apartment, police ordered an autopsy. The coroner found that the cause of death was “acute and chronic alcohol consumption”. A large bottle of vodka was found at the site of the corpse.
According to the US portal “TMZ”, Cowie had repeatedly struggled with alcohol abuse in the past. Allegedly, however, he claimed to have his addiction under control. He always denied the abuse of other drugs.
Earlier this year, he was arrested in Oklahoma for drunk driving after being involved in a car accident.
