YouTube started testing its new feature in Turkey

YouTube, the world’s largest video sharing and broadcasting platform, has started to test its new feature called ‘Hype’ in Turkey, which it plans to put into effect in many different countries in 2024. With this new feature, users will be able to highlight small-scale publishers and content producers in the algorithm.

Last Monday, YouTube stated that it was working on a new feature called Hype and that it would start testing it in several different countries, and launched this feature.

YouTube offers opportunities to small-scale content producers with ‘Hype’

With this feature, which has started to be tested in Turkey, Taiwan and Brazil, users will be able to ‘Hype’ to YouTube members who are not highlighted by the algorithm and cannot meet other users. In this way, users will be able to view on more pages and will be made more visible to users.

Although the new feature seems to involve clicking the Like button at first, content creators who click on the Hype button more often will be significantly ahead of other users who have uploaded videos in the last 7 days.

YouTube will now support Smart Downloads for Shorts videos, allowing you to watch Shorts even when you’re offline.

According to the statement made by YouTube, only publishers and content producers with less than 500 thousand subscribers will be able to benefit from this application. Thus, it is planned to prevent large channels from growing further and gaining fame.

So, what do you think about this feature offered to users in Turkey? Are you one of the users who came across the ‘Hype’ button? Don’t forget to share your opinions with us on our social media accounts or in the comments section.
