While life slowly returns to the Ukrainian capital, war rages on in other parts of the country. People are wondering how to proceed. And guess: without Europe, without Germany, it doesn’t work. Here, seven of them share what Germans should know.

“Germany is helping enormously in this crisis, for example by taking in refugees, providing them with accommodation and even money. I know what I’m talking about because I lived in Germany as a refugee for two months. My little daughter and my mother are still in Rostock. I also believe that it is not easy for Germany to temporarily take in so many Ukrainians, which of course puts a strain on the state budget.
