Xerox Patent Application: Blockchain Registry System

Technology giant Xerox is using Blockchain technology to electronic documents. safely filed a patent application for the transaction.

The company, known for its printers, filed an application in February 2016, according to new records released by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. The concept in the apps is about a kind of node network, and thanks to Blockchain, data can be shared and records can be updated.

As for who can use the proposed system, Xerox emphasized that it is aimed at the needs of regional hospital systems and multinational companies.

“The audit system uses a cryptographic process to sign all record changes in an electronic document and verify that records have not been altered. It is very important in ensuring security before it is recorded in the blockchain. As the system evolves, the security method can also be increased and improved.”

Although Xerox has given relatively little information to the press to date, its first application has been in the healthcare industry.
