The DFB actually wanted the PK to take place in Al-Shamal, but a corresponding attempt was repelled by Fifa. That’s why Flick has to drive around an hour to Doha and then back again in order to be at the team camp in time for the final training session at 5:15 p.m.
According to BILD information, the DFB is considering saving at least one player the exertion before the important game. As a result, the association risks a fine. Fifa actually prescribes the PK participation of a player.
When asked by BILD, Fifa said that it was a case-by-case decision as to whether the DFB would actually be penalized.
