Dusseldorf During the interview, the potential new head of sales is asked whether he can come to the international management conference, which takes place shortly before he officially takes up his post. The idea: There, the “newcomer” can get to know the most important people in the group. However, the employer did not expect the candidate’s reaction: “Unfortunately no, I’m still on vacation.”

As a result, the otherwise promising applicant has thrown himself out of the running, as executive coach Gudrun Happich knows.
