Dusseldorf Around 1.1 billion liters of Adblue are consumed in Germany every year. Trucks in particular need larger quantities. Your diesel engines – and thus long-distance transport – will not run without the fuel additive. If there are supply bottlenecks, supply chains fail and supermarket shelves remain empty.

As recently as October, the Federal Association of Road Haulage, Logistics and Disposal warned of the consequences of a persistent Adblue shortage. Freight forwarders occasionally had to be supplied from emergency supplies. The price increase was rapid: in August 2022, the diesel additive reached its all-time high and cost up to three euros per liter – four times as much as at the beginning of the year. The situation seems to be easing a bit at the moment.
